Turkish Designers on the World Stage: The Rise of a New Generation
From Yıldız Yazıcıoğlu to Rüyam Gözlükçüoğlu, Turkish designers are setting the global fashion agenda.
Istanbul had long been described as a bridge between East and West. But as of 2026, Turkish designers are no longer on this bridge — they are emerging as actors shaping both sides.
The Rüyam brand stepped into the American market by opening a permanent showroom in New York following pop-up stores in Los Angeles and London. The brand's colorful, embroidered, and unique bags have become a frequent sight in Instagram posts of Hollywood celebrities.
On the other hand, following the long-standing success of Erdem Moralıoğlu in London, a new generation of Turkish designers is also rapidly gaining recognition on international platforms. Dice Kayek, who opened a showroom at Paris Fashion Week, became a favorite of the French press with its ruffled satin pieces.
Social media plays a big role in this rise. Turkish designer pieces that go viral on TikTok sell out within days. The number of international buyers attending Istanbul Fashion Week increased by 340% compared to 2023.
