Just as K-Pop swept the world, K-Fashion is taking over the fashion agenda. Lessons from the streets of Seoul.

With the rise of BTS, BLACKPINK, and Netflix Korean dramas on the world stage, Korean culture became a global phenomenon in every field from music to cuisine. K-Fashion also took its more than fair share of this wave. Street style trends emerging from Seoul's Hongdae and Sinchon districts are now powerful enough to influence the runways of Paris and Milan.

The most distinctive feature of K-Fashion is the skillful combination of contrasting elements: oversized and fitted, feminine and sporty, vintage and modern. The harmonious union of these opposites is the core philosophy of Korean style.

Among the indispensable pieces of K-Fashion are mini skirts, platform shoes, graphic-printed t-shirts, wide-cut denim jackets, and cropped pants that show the ankles. Shoulder bags and small accessories close to 'Y2K' aesthetics are complementary elements.

You don't need to spend a lot of money to adopt this style. You can start by putting together the pieces in your existing wardrobe in different ways, and over time add a few key pieces unique to K-Fashion.
